| To solve problems, we first need to be able to ask significant and sometimes uncomfortable questions. I absolutely don't agree that this Net Generation is the "Dumbest Generation." I evidence this by the amount of service that our students participate in at our middle school. I would argue that students these days are more dedicated than me and my group of friends at the same age. We just dutifully answered very easy, fact-based questions in school and we never urged to think beyond our textbook. All we cared about was who was "going out" with whom and who we were going to hang out with after school. We absolutely didn't care about issues outside of our clique, let along in the world. Kids these days are aware of global issues and sometimes I worry they are bombarded and stressed because they have too much pressure to solve all of the problems created by generations before them. The Internet has allowed students to self-publish, share their ideas, products and solutions and learn from people around the world on social networking sites. Anyways, I don't agree that they are the Dumbest Generation but I'm absolutely interested to see what you all think, especially if you are a Net Genner.
