National Youth Leadership Council has updated the standards (see attached). A simple way to see these standards is to note they represent the three levels of service-learning project complexity and expertise: > * Basic: Meaningful Service, Link to Curriculum and Reflection > * Intermediate: Basic plus Diversity, Youth Voice and Partnerships > * Advance: Intermediate plus Progress Monitoring and Duration and Intensity > (and in California we add Civic Responsibility) Whatever level you are, know that they are a doable and make a huge difference in the lives of youth and our community. Let me know if I can support you in mastering your level or taking it to the next level. -Jennifer Hamilton, new Program Director at Excel Youth Zone, the new service-learning powerhouse for San Diego Note: San Diego service learning and student service clubs have moved from Volunteer San Diego to Excel Youth Zone
